Brazilian airlines will cancel flights to Argentina on January 24.

Brazilian airlines are canceling flights to Argentina on January 24 due to a general strike that will take place that day.

“The general strike in Argentina, declared by the General Confederation of Labor on January 24, forced Brazilian airlines to cancel flights for that day,”   Latam and Gol airlines inform.

As noted, as of January 20, 33 flights between Brazil and Argentina were canceled.

The Argentine General Confederation of Labor CGT decided to hold a general strike on January 24, which was joined by a number of trade unions.

The CGT opposes the emergency decree of the new Argentine President Javier Miley on more than 300 reforms to liberalize the economy, which affect all areas, and yesterday condemned the alleged secret meetings of the speaker of the lower house of deputies with the heads of factions, at which the accelerated adoption of the reforms was allegedly discussed.

Javier Miley’s so-called “omnibus law” includes, among other things, the repeal of the current rental law, which both tenants and landlords were dissatisfied with, and the abolition of price controls, which were practiced by the previous government by placing price ceilings on sensitive goods. The decree also provides for the reform of contributions to the healthcare system and opens the way for the privatization of state-owned companies.
