In Cuba, it was not possible to restore the energy supply system.

Cuban authorities continue to restore the power supply system after a third failure, local officials say.

“Millions of Cubans were left without electricity this morning after another partial blackout,” they said.

Senior electricity official Lazaro Guerra said technicians were working to fix the problem but did not give a timeline for restoring power.

Yesterday, the electric power company reported a complete blackout.

On Thursday, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez instructed Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz to inform residents of the energy emergency the country is experiencing. He pointed out that its main reason was the strengthening of US sanctions against the island, making it difficult to import fuel and other necessary resources.
