An earthquake hit southwestern Taiwan.

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit Chiayi County in southwest Taiwan on Tuesday, the island’s Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.

The earthquake was recorded at 17.30 local time, its epicenter was located in Chiayi County, the source lay at a depth of 8.5 kilometers.
