Trump allowed the US to leave NATO.

US President-elect Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of the country leaving the North Atlantic Alliance. He stated this in an interview with NBC News.

“If they pay their bills, then of course,” Trump responded to a question about maintaining US membership in NATO.

He stressed that the fulfillment of financial obligations by the allies will be a key condition for Washington’s continued participation in the alliance.

Trump has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with NATO’s activities. If he wins the November elections, he threatened the United States with withdrawal from the North Atlantic Alliance unless its European partners take greater financial responsibility for their own security. Trump will take office as president on January 20, 2025.
