Iraqi Shiite militias have announced full mobilization to help Lebanon.

Iraq’s Shiite militia has announced full readiness and mobilization to provide humanitarian assistance to the Lebanese, militia leader Falih al-Fayyad said in a statement on Monday.

“Declaring full solidarity with our brothers in Lebanon in the face of Zionist arrogance and the daily killing machine that moves between Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, we declare our full readiness and mobilization to provide all possible types of assistance at the food, medical and humanitarian levels to our brothers in Lebanon in response to the call of the highest religious authority and in view of human duty,”  al-Fayyad said.

He also called on other countries to “provide assistance and humanitarian support to local brothers in coordination with the Iraqi government and official authorities.”

Another escalation with increasing intensity of shelling on both sides occurred after massive explosions of communications equipment in different parts of Lebanon on September 17 and 18, which killed dozens of people and injured about 3 thousand.

Israeli aircraft later struck a residential building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, killing more than 50 people, including Hezbollah special operations commander Ibrahim Aqil. Shiite resistance fighters responded by attacking the Israeli air force base Ramat David and the Rafael military-industrial complex in northern Haifa. Several rockets exploded in residential areas on the outskirts of the Israeli city.
