Environmental activists staged a protest at Vienna airport.

Members of the organization “Last Generation Austria” organized a protest at Vienna International Airport, according to a publication on the movement’s page on the social network X.

According to the publication, activists sat on the floor at Vienna International Airport and, holding hands, blocked one of the passages in the harbor building.

They also scattered orange confetti in one of the halls. Activists are demanding that the Austrian government stop using coal, gas and oil. They carried posters with the words “Oil kills.”

Activists had earlier protested at Vienna airport on Wednesday, spilling paint and delaying one flight to Rome. In addition, they announced their protest, which took place today. In this regard, the general director of the air harbor announced that security measures would be strengthened.

Earlier on Thursday, Frankfurt am Main airport said flights were suspended due to demonstrations by Last Generation activists, but flights were later resumed. The day before, “The Last Generation” held a similar event at Bonn/Cologne airport.
