The EU will discuss adjusting the mechanisms for providing military assistance to Ukraine.

EU leaders at the summit on February 1 will discuss adjusting the instruments for providing military assistance to Ukraine to speed up the process, according to an invitation letter from the head of the European Council Charles Michel to the heads of state and government of the community countries.

“Taking all things into account, we will take the opportunity to discuss all aspects of our military support to Ukraine, including the supply of ammunition and adjustments to relevant EU instruments for faster delivery of assistance, in addition to bilateral efforts,” the document states.

Michel added that he aims to reach an agreement among all 27 countries on adjusting the multi-year EU budget, including funding for Ukraine. “Achieving this agreement is vitally important for our authority,” said the head of the European Council.
