Coronavirus death rate continues to rise in Armenia

The press secretary of the Ministry of Health Alina Nikoghosyan said that the third death from COVID-19 in a day was registered in Armenia, the number of deaths from coronavirus in the country reached seven. 

Armenia has declared a state of emergency from March 16 to April 14 to combat the spread of coronavirus. 663 cases of infection have been identified in the country. From March 25 to April 12, the work of enterprises and organizations, except for strategically important ones, was temporarily stopped, restrictions on the movement of citizens were introduced.On March 11, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, more than 820 thousand cases of infection have already been recorded in the world, more than 40 thousand people have died.

“Death was recorded at the Nork Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital. A 76-year-old patient had a coronavirus disease, confirmed bilateral polysegmental pneumonia. In addition, the woman suffered from concomitant chronic diseases, in particular, diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension,” Nikoghosyan wrote on Facebook.
