Nicolas Maduro hails the solidarity between Venezuela and Cuba during his referring to a message received from Raul Castro, the head of the Cuban Communist Party.
Nicolas Maduro, the Venezuelan president, has received as a gift from the Cuban revolutionary leader the book ‘The Conquest of Hope: Campaign Diaries’ by Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara and Raul Castro. Expressing his delight, Maduro stressed the solidarity between Venezuela and Cuba.
‘We need to see each other again and talk as usual. Our revolutions are closer than ever, for our struggles and our victorious peoples,’ wrote Raul Castro in a note dedicating the book to Maduro.
As Prensa Latina reports, Venezuela praised the decisive support of Cuban doctors in fighting against the coronavirus epidemic in the Latin American country. In fact, over 21,000 Cuban healthcare professionals work in the Barrio Adentro Mission, the result of the comprehensive collaboration deal between both nations.
Venezuela’s leader was also very grateful to the governments of China, Russia and Iran for their solidarity in the fight against the novel virus in a scenario marked by the impact of US unilateral coercive measures as a mechanism to cripple Venezuelan economy.
The Venezuelan leader also stressed the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, reporting 2,377 COVID-19 patients so far, of which over 80 percent are heavy cases.
