Donald Trump to attend 2019 WEF meeting in Davos

The White House has confirmed Donald Trump’s attendance at the upcoming World Economic Forum in Davos. For the US President, it will the second year in a row when he joins the world leaders in Switzerland  for a forum, which runs from January 22nd to January 25th.

The 2019 annual meeting in Davos will gather the high-profile gathering of the world’s elite members in the alpine resort town of Davos. The Russian delegation will also be attending, three oligarchs Vekselberg, Kostin and Deripaska have received the invitation from WEF organizers. The White House press secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed on Tuesday that Donald Trump will attend Davos event again.

According to ms sanders, Donald Trump’s advisor Ivanka would also participate as part of the US delegation. Ivanka’s husband, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross are set to attend too. This year, at the 2018 WEF meeting in Davos, Trump wasn’t welcomed by the local residents who set the peaceful protests in cities around Switzerland, not only Davos.

The theme for the next WEF annual meeting is “Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” Donald Trump’s attendance came as a surprise given his America First strategy runs counter to the ethos of the WEF, which was set up in 1971 to help political and business leaders collaborate on global challenges.
