Brexit will be a useful shaking thing for lazy Britain, believes Gordon Ramsey. The famous British chef thinks it ends to the “influx” of migrants, giving the homegrown talent a chance to shine.
The battle of two chefs from Britain, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey, is known to everyone. While Jamie Oliver campaigned for Remain, Ramsay assured in the positive effect of Brexit for the restaurant business inside the UK. Moreover, Gordon expressed his own view on EU migrant labour and the opportunities for British workers.
During the interview to the Radio Times, Ramsay said:
“That level of influx of multinational workers in this country has sort of confirmed how lazy as a nation we are – when individuals from across the seas are prepared to come and work twice as hard for less money,”
Gordon added.
The modern-day apprenticeship is an aim, said Gordon who welcomes that kind of change. At the same time, the chef is going to put a lot more emphasis on homegrown talent, which lazy Britain needs to do.
In fact, Ramsay and Oliver have a great respect for each other but there is no love between them. And it is not only about Brexit, probably, two celebrity chefs have just different views on the life and politics, that is quite normal.
