Queen Elizabeth opens a roof garden at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Queen Elizabeth adores gardens and flowers, and on Friday, Her Royal Majesty looked simply elegant as she opened a roof garden at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary today. 

The monarch donned the classical blue tweed coat and matching hat for the opening ceremony of a roof garden at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This morning, the 91-year-old monarch beamed as she met patients and staff before opening the tranquil outdoor space.

HRM is currently in residence at Balmoral Castle, in Aberdeenshire, on Friday morning, she looked radiant as she was taking part in the opening ceremony of another beautiful English garden. Queen Elizabeth was given a tour of the plot by Reverend James Falconer, who was in charge of the project.

As always, Queen looked elegant and stylish, for Friday event she wore a blue dress coat which featured a turquoise trim and was finished with a brooch on her shoulder. The blue colour suits very well to Elizabeth II’s eyes, making her look fresh and effortlessly chic.

The Queen also met the garden’s architect and designers as well as staff, volunteers, former patients and fundraisers. She expressed her gratitude for such amazing job they all do – the roof garden at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary becomes another island of tranquillity and natural beauty.
