The neighbourhood of noisy traffic is unhealthy for the people, say the recent study. The taking daily exercise falls by five per cent for every ten decibels of noise, according to an article in the International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health.
The physical exercise is an important part of daily life, but the noisy traffic outside can play a negative role in the wishing of people to exercise. As noisier outside as poorer the quality of night sleep. Consequently, the person has no desire to do exercise in the morning.
According to the recent study, people who sleep poorly exercise less, the link is evident and clear. Year to year, the energy level is getting lower and even can lead to the depression and diseases on the psychosomatic level.
Noise increases, activity level falls
Noise from traffic in the streets of two of Denmark’s largest cities, Copenhagen and Aarhus, is usually somewhere between 40 and 70 decibels. The probability that a person exercises daily falls by five per cent for every ten decibels of noise because the regular and non-stop stress as well as lack of sleep can affect exercise.
This means if you live in an area where the traffic noise reaches 70 decibels is 15 per cent less likely to exercise daily than someone who lives in an area with 40 decibels of traffic noise.
“Physical inactivity is a big public health problem in general and we may have found one of the reasons as to why people don’t exercise enough,”
