Princess Charlene and Sergei Bubka, both ex-athletes and champions, attended the awards ceremony in Monaco. 

Princess Charlene wasn’t born the royal, she married Prince Albert and quit the career of a professional swimmer. On Friday, the athletic wife of Prince Albert was accompanying another Olympic champion Sergei Bubka. The Soviet-time athlete broke many records in the 80s, now he is an official in the International Olympic Committee who attended the ceremony of awarding the best athletes at the Diamond League athletics series in Monaco.

A pair of elegant white shoes with a wedge heel was just visible beneath her flowing maxi-dress. The smiling 39-year-old royal presented fellow South African Wayde Van Niekerk with a gold medal after winning the 400m in 43.73 seconds.
