Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber marked the selling of Casamigos brand in a cosy restaurant. The model family weren’t joined by their kids or another partner, George Clooney. The small company celebrate after tequila company sells for a $1 billion last week.
The signing of the deal on the selling tequila brand Casamigos became a reason for celebrating, Crawford and Gerber had extra reason to push the boat out when they were spotted going for dinner at the pricey Nobu Malibu on Sunday.
Last Wednesday, Rande Gerber, Mike Meldman, and George Clooney as partners sold their Casamigos Tequila company to British beverage company Diageo for a huge $1 billion.
Rande, George and Mike launched Casamigos in 2013 after Rande and his Hollywood star pal bought nearby homes in Mexico and developed a taste for tequila.
Casamigos: how $1bln brand started
Casamigos as a brand started in 2013 when Michael Meldman, George Clooney, and Rande Gerber decided to invent the special tequila, which guarantees no hangover next day. And they did it! Then the entrepreneurs hosted the official launch of Casamigos Tequila at Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel on the Spanish island of Ibiza on August 23, 2015 (see photo below).
Three years after, the bottles of Casamigos became extremely popular, the quality alcohol product made a really good profit, so the partners were offered $1 billion to sell it. All three partners couldn’t refuse such a generous offer, last Wednesday the deal was signed. Since then, the new owner of Casamigos brand is Diageo.
