Zurabishvili explained why the US and EU imposed restrictions against Georgia.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said that the United States and the European Union imposed restrictions against Tbilisi because of the government’s anti-European and anti-Western rhetoric.

Earlier on Tuesday, EU Ambassador to Tbilisi Pavel Gerchinsky said that EU leaders decided to suspend Georgia’s European integration process and freeze 30 million euros that were planned to be sent to it to strengthen its defense capabilities. Earlier, the United States postponed the “Worthy Partner” military exercises planned in Georgia.

“The cancellation of the US exercise was followed by the decision of the European Union to freeze 30 million euros intended for the defense forces. This is a response to the anti-European and anti-Western rhetoric and actions of this government. This is a response to the fact that all their advice and warnings went unheeded,” Zurabishvili wrote in her account on social networks.
