Xi Jinping hopes to strengthen relations with Brazil.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said he expects the strengthening of Chinese-Brazilian relations following his state visit to Brazil.

Xi Jinping arrived in Rio de Janeiro on November 17 for the 19th G20 summit, as well as a state visit to Brazil.

“I look forward to an in-depth exchange of views with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on further strengthening China-Brazil relations, promoting the alignment of development strategies of the two countries, as well as on international and regional issues of mutual interest,” the Chinese leader said in a written statement , the text of which was distributed by China Central Television on Monday.

The Chinese leader expressed confidence that as a result of his visit to Brazil, the parties will deepen mutual strategic trust and bilateral cooperation in various fields.


Xi Jinping’s current visit to Brazil is the second in the last five years. He will hold talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on bilateral relations, international and regional issues of common interest, and will also take part in the signing ceremony of cooperation documents.
