In the Czech Republic, voting resumed at 08.00 in the second round of the presidential elections in the Czech Republic, those of the 8.25 million voters who did not have time to vote on Friday can do so on Saturday until 14.00, Czech TV reported.

The first round of the presidential elections in the Czech Republic took place on January 13-14, the turnout was 68.24%. The army general in the reserve, ex-head of the NATO military committee, 61-year-old Petr Pavel, received 35.4% and took first place, and ex-prime minister and dollar billionaire, 68-year-old Andrei Babish, came second with 34.99%. They advanced to the second round, which takes place on January 27-28.


In order to win the election, one of the candidates in the second round is enough to get a simple majority of votes. Preliminary voting results will be summed up on Saturday evening, and on Sunday morning the CEC will announce the official results. The inauguration of the new president will take place on March 8.
