UK reimposes quarantine on travellers from Sweden

The UK approved the stricter rules for those travelling from Sweden. From Saturday, they obliged to quarantine for 14 days. At the same time, the UK is revising its travel corridors with Sweden and Germany.

All travellers who arrived in the UK before 4 am on Saturday will not need to self-isolate, excluding people who have been to another country not exempt from the quarantine rules in the past two weeks. In any case, to follow any lockdown rules is a must.

Sweden and Germany are to be removed from the UK’s list of travel corridors at 4 am on November 7th. These two nations are exempt from the two-week self-quarantine rules that apply to other international travellers.

In Sweden, the infections are again on the rise, another 4,034 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

This week, the British government has approved the stricter rules and partial lockdown. Now, the large parts of the UK are under strict lockdowns, so even if people are travelling from a country on the list of travel corridors, they may still have to follow strict COVOD-19 health protocol.

The upcoming Christmas is another problem for the European countries, including the UK. The British government has added Sweden to its list of travel corridors in September after months of falling COVID-19 cases in the Nordic country.
