Trump says Rex Tillerson ‘wasting his time’ with North Korea talks

US President Trump believes that any talks with the North Korea are the wasting time. On Sunday, Donald Trump advised Rex Tillerson to leave the efforts on establishing the contact with Pyongyang.

Donald Trump doesn’t believe in the power of diplomatic talks with North Korea, the American leader even told his Secretary of State to keep his energy for other important issues, not the NKorean nuclear programmes.

“Save your energy Rex, we’ll do what has to be done!”

Mr Trump tweeted on Sunday, adding in reference to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un:

“I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man…”

The day before this President’s tweet, Rex Tillerson confirmed in the rare public acknowledgement that Pyongyang had little interest in dialogue. In fact, that was a good news, taking into account that the United States and N.Korea have engaged in heated rhetoric in recent months.

North Korea and Trump’s vision of this problem

Donald Trump never supported the idea of talks with Pyongyang, in August, he said the US military was “locked and loaded” ready to deal with North Korea, just hours after his defence secretary tried to cool tensions by saying that diplomatic efforts were succeeding.

Donald Trump paid a visit to the Presidents Cup golf tournament on Sunday, during his speech, POTUS explained his vision of the NKorean crisis:

“Being nice to Rocket Man hasn’t worked in 25 years, why would it work now? Clinton failed, Bush failed, and Obama failed. I won’t fail.”
