The UN Secretary General included the Israeli army on the blacklist of violators.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres added the Israeli army to the list of violators against children in the conflict, the press service of the republic’s permanent mission to the organization reported.

“Today, Israel’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, received formal notification from the UN Secretary-General, through his Chief of Staff, of his decision to include Israel in the list of countries and armed organizations (attached as an annex to the UN Secretary-General’s report on children in armed conflict) that have not accepted adequate measures to improve the protection of children during conflict,” the commentary said.

Among other things, the document says that the UN Secretary General decided to include the IDF in the report on children in armed conflict “as a party committing violations against children.”

In response, the Israeli permanent representative stated that he was extremely shocked and outraged by “this shameful decision of the Secretary General.” He noted that “the Israeli army is the most moral army in the world.”

“This is an immoral decision that only promotes terrorism and rewards Hamas,” Erdan said.
