The turnout at the constitutional referendum in Uzbekistan after the closure of all polling stations, according to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, amounted to 84.54%, the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the republic, Zainiddin Nizamkhojaev said on Monday.

The constitutional referendum in Uzbekistan took place on 30 April. The Central Election Commission previously reported that the referendum was declared valid, as the turnout on Sunday exceeded the required 50% by 13.00 – 62.24%, or more than 12 million people.

“According to the electronic system that records the turnout of those who came to the polling stations, 16,673,189 voters voted, which is 84.54% of the total number included in the voting lists,” Nizamkhodzhaev said at a briefing.


According to updated data from the CEC, 19.7 million voters are registered in Uzbekistan, and 10,758 polling stations have been organized.
