The Trump campaign is appealing its ban on participation in the Colorado primaries.

Donald Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Chung considered the Colorado court’s decision to be erroneous and said that it would be challenged.

Previously, the Colorado Supreme Court banned Trump from participating in local primaries as part of determining the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, according to the court’s decision.

“The Colorado Supreme Court made a completely wrong decision… We will immediately appeal to the US Supreme Court,” Chung said in a statement.

The party’s presidential nominee is determined at the national convention based on the results of state primaries, which determine the number of delegates from each in support of one of the nominees. Thus, even if Trump is not represented in one of the states, he remains able to win the Republican nomination.

On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters attacked the Capitol, blocking Congress for several hours. After the protesters were expelled from the building, congressmen confirmed Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. Hundreds of people in the US were subsequently arrested by law enforcement on charges related to their participation in the assault.

Trump was charged with four counts: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to interfere with official proceedings, interference and attempted interference with official proceedings, and conspiracy to violate rights. The ex-president declared his innocence in court.
