The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the French authorities should explain why President Emmanuel Macron wants to come to the BRICS summit in South Africa.

“Whether they want to establish some kind of contact once again in order to show the activity of Paris, or is it some kind of Trojan horse – let them tell it themselves. I think that first of all, the Elysee Palace or those who will be delegated should speak out,” she said.

The diplomat noted that we are talking about an organization that France is not a member of in any way and in relation to which it has never experienced “even any politeness,” not to mention good intentions.
