The Prime Minister of Georgia called President Zurabishvili a puppet of the opposition.

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze called head of state Salome Zurabishvili a “puppet” of the opposition.

“Salome Zurabishvili herself admitted that she is a president who violated the constitution, and she retained her position due to the fact that the National Movement party did not support impeachment. Consequently, she is no longer the president of Georgia, but the president of the National Movement, an ordinary puppet. Based on this , her words and statements have no power,” Kobakhidze told reporters.

Foreign visits of the Georgian President previously led to conflict between Zurabishvili and the ruling party.

Georgian Dream even filed a lawsuit against the president in the constitutional court demanding impeachment. The court found her to have violated the law, but the impeachment could not be completed due to a lack of votes in parliament.

In addition, Zurabishvili has repeatedly criticized the ruling party for its actions in foreign policy.
