Israeli President Isaac Herzog, in an interview with the German TV channel Welt, confirmed the death of the German woman Shani Luk, who was kidnapped in Israel.

 

According to him, she was “beheaded.” The Duke expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry also confirmed the death of the German woman in a statement on the social network X. “We are saddened to announce that the death of 23-year-old… Shani Luk has been confirmed,” the foreign ministry said in a statement on social media site X.

The story of 22-year-old Shani Luk attracted the attention of the world media after her mother identified her in video footage published by Hamas based on her tattoo and recorded a video message. In the recording, Hamas fighters hold a girl lying face down in the trunk of a pickup truck with her legs unnaturally twisted. It was reported that after this she received medical care in a hospital in the Gaza Strip. In a video message, Shani’s mother appealed to the German authorities demanding “not to argue about responsibility,” but to “get” the girl out of the Gaza Strip and return her home.


Shani Look has German and Israeli citizenship and has visited her grandparents in Ravensburg (Baden-Württemberg) several times. Her mother, a Catholic who later converted to Judaism, emigrated to Israel. Her Jewish father is Israeli
