Indonesian President Joko Widodo called on the international community to stop all wars to achieve a prosperous and peaceful future, the Indonesian Ministry of Information told.

During his speech at the second session of the G20 summit, dubbed “One Family”, Widodo spoke about Indonesia’s vision of an ideal “family” of countries around the world. According to him, such a family should have as its goal the creation of a prosperous and peaceful life.

“We must stop wars, firmly adhere to international law and work together,” the politician explained.

President Widodo stressed that Indonesia now sees ASEAN as “an anchor of regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region.” The world, according to the president, currently needs a “safe haven” – and Indonesia can become such a “neutralizer” of regional tension.
The G20 summit in New Delhi began on Saturday and officially ends on Sunday. Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the G20 countries had adopted the summit declaration by 100% consensus.

India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1 last year and around 200 G20-related meetings were organized in 60 cities across the country.
