The person involved in the Pentagon documents leak case admitted guilt.

Jack Teixeira, a defendant in the Pentagon documents leak case, pleaded guilty and agreed to a prison term of 16 years, according to a court document.

“I enter into this agreement freely and voluntarily, and also because I am actually guilty of committing crimes,” the pre-trial agreement that Teixeira signed says.

As noted in the document, Teixeira “understands and agrees” that the prosecutor will ask the court to send him to prison for 200 months (a little more than 16.5 years).

Teixeira, a member of the US Air National Guard, was detained in connection with the leak of documents on April 13. He began posting classified documents on a Discord server around February 2022. Teixeira allegedly found the conflict in Ukraine “depressing” and thought that Moscow and Kyiv “should have more in common than what divides them.
