The business of mining and gold companies in the Republic of Sudan has not been affected by the conflict, since most of the facilities are located far from the capital, Sudan’s Minister of Natural Resources Mohamed Bashir Abdullah Mennawi said.
⠀
“All mining projects and gold plants are located away from Khartoum, where there is a war, so most of the ongoing projects and plants remain safe and sound, including the largest company, which ranks first in gold production in Sudan – Alliance For Mining co. Ltd. .. Russian companies in Sudan were also not affected,” Mennavi said.
⠀
He added that mines in the western parts of Sudan may be affected during the conflict, but even before the war, their share in gold production was negligible, and the conflict also affected new investment in the industry.

Since April 15, fighting has been going on in Sudan between the RRF under the command of Mohammed Hamdan Daglo and the regular army. The parties exchange conflicting statements about the successes in military operations and control over objects, having launched a large-scale information war in the media and social networks. The situation in the country is not improving, despite the talks of the parties to the conflict in Saudi Jeddah, which began on May 6.

According to the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), about 2.2 million people are internally displaced in Sudan, about 700,000 have left the country since the start of the conflict.
