In Paris, the traditional May Day demonstration began on the Place de la République, with thousands of people participating.

A column of demonstrators marched towards Nation Square.

Above it rise miniature balloons with the logos of the leading French trade unions: the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), Force of the Workers (FO) and others. The flags of the communist and socialist parties and the New Anti-Capitalist Party are visible.

Many demonstrators hold Palestinian flags, and among the participants there are many supporters of the “yellow vest” movement. They chant the song: “We are here, we are here, for the honor of the workers, even if Macron doesn’t want it!”

The column of demonstrators also includes several hundred black bloc radicals, dressed all in black and with their faces covered with masks and hoods.

On May 1st, in honor of Labor Day, demonstrations are traditionally held in France. According to law enforcement officials, a total of 270 actions have been announced; from 130 to 150 thousand people can take part in them. According to the Paris police prefecture, between 15 and 30 thousand participants are expected in the capital.

According to the prefecture in X, 478 people were tested during preliminary controls. Among other things, knives and brass knuckles were confiscated from them.
