The regional organization Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas (ALBA) on the social network X condemns the attempted coup in Venezuela and the unrest in the country, the instigators of which are far-right forces, the alliance said in a statement.

“ALBA members condemn the attempted coup and the outbreak of violence in Venezuela, facilitated by far-right forces, despite the election results,” the organization said.

The statement notes that the organization rejects “a brutal campaign of hatred through the imperialist media, as well as acts of vandalism and attacks on people, infrastructure, and symbolic objects for the country,” which are intended to “denigrate” the peaceful elections held in the country.

The alliance expressed full support for the government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The presidential elections in Venezuela were held on July 28, the next day the national electoral council declared Maduro the elected president for 2025-2031, he received, according to the electoral council, 51% of the vote. On Monday, protests flared up in Venezuela; clashes broke out in Caracas between police and demonstrators, who began throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officers. The Minister of Defense reported 48 casualties, one soldier was killed. 749 people were detained in cases of destruction of state infrastructure, incitement of hatred and terrorism. The Venezuelan government has announced interference by a number of countries in the elections and in the people’s right to self-determination.
