The IDF blamed Islamic Jihad for the attack on a hospital in Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has completed its investigation into the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip and says the Islamic Jihad group is responsible for the attack, IDF spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari said at a briefing.

“The IDF has completed its post-mortem analysis and can confirm that Islamic Jihad was responsible for the attack on Al-Ahly Hospital in the Gaza Strip,” Hagari said.

According to the IDF, as reports emerged of the hospital explosion, the Islamic Jihad group fired 10 rockets into Israel from a nearby cemetery.

“According to our intelligence, Hamas checked the reports, realized it was an Islamic Jihad missile that had misfired, and decided to launch a global media campaign to cover up what really happened. They went so far as to inflate the number victims,” Khagari said.

Al-Ahly Hospital in the Gaza Strip was attacked on October 17. Gaza’s health ministry said more than 500 people were killed, most of them women and children.

The parties to the conflict blamed each other: in Palestine they said that the attack was carried out by Israeli planes, and in Israel they said that a rocket that was unsuccessfully launched by the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad hit the hospital.
