The headquarters of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon was hit by a shell.

The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported on the social network X that a shell fell on its headquarters in the city of Naqura in southern Lebanon, without causing any casualties.

“Today… a shell fell at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura. Fortunately, it did not explode and no one was injured, but there was damage to our base. The shell was removed and we are working to determine the cause of the attack,” the statement from the organization says.

Earlier, a video appeared on social networks showing a convoy with UNIFIL equipment moving from southern Lebanon towards Beirut. A number of local media outlets rushed to report that the peacekeepers may be leaving southern Lebanon ahead of full-scale military clashes between Hezbollah fighters and the Israeli army.

The situation in the settlements in southern Lebanon is stable. Israeli drones and military aircraft constantly patrol Lebanese airspace. Local residents of the border village of Hula said that blue helmets also remain at the border stronghold on the demarcation line between the positions of the Lebanese and Israeli armies.

Shelling between Hezbollah and the IDF on the Lebanese-Israeli border has continued for more than a week. The situation escalated sharply after Israel announced a military operation against the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip.
