The FBI is conducting a search of the home of US President Joe Biden in Rehoboth Beach in the case of secret documents, the personal lawyer of the head of state said.

“We will have more information after today’s search is completed,” he said.

On Wednesday afternoon, CBS, citing sources, also reported that FBI agents were at Biden’s home in Rehoboth Beach. Then the personal lawyer of the head of the White House, Bob Bauer, confirmed this information to CNN, noting that the search was taking place with the full support and cooperation of the president.

Joe Biden, like his predecessor Donald Trump, has been touched by a scandal over their handling of classified documents. In mid-January, it was reported that a batch of secret documents was found in the building of a Washington think tank associated with the American leader. They belong to the period when Biden served as Vice President of the United States in the administration of Barack Obama. Later, classified papers were also found in the garage of his Wilmington home.
The presidential administration acknowledged that the current head of state used these office spaces in Washington from 2017 to 2020.

According to media reports, among the secret documents were intelligence data and materials from briefings about Ukraine, Iran and the UK, they are dated 2013-2016.
Biden himself said that the find came as a surprise to him, he knows nothing about the contents of the papers.
