The death toll in a plane crash in South Korea has risen to 120.

The death toll in a plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea has risen to 120 people, Yonhap news agency reported, citing fire services.

“The death toll from the Jeju Air plane crash has increased to 120… Confirmation of the data continues,” firefighters said.

It was previously reported that on December 29, at about 9.07, a Boeing 737-800 flight 7C 2216 of Jeju Air from Bangkok to Muan in South Korea with 181 people on board, while landing at Muan Airport in South Korea, flew past the runway and crashed into a fence. A fire started.

Already 120 people were declared dead, two were saved. They turned out to be two members of the plane’s crew, one woman and one man. They had moderate to severe injuries and were transported to hospitals. There were no Russians on the plane that crashed in Muan; among the passengers there were 173 South Korean citizens and two Thais. Presumably, all but two of those rescued died.
