Stella McCartney at Paris Fashion Week with collection of organic cotton and synthetic leathers

Stella McCartney at Paris Fashion Week with collection of organic cotton and synthetic leathers

The British designer Stella McCartney lays waste to disposable fashion in Paris Fashion Week, she offered to have a look at her new collection of eco-leathers, sustainable viscose and organic cotton.

Stella McCartney’s fashion label and its dedication to animal welfare and sustainability are known to everyone. In light of this, even the invitation for Stella’s defile at Paris Fashion Week came attached to a roll of compostable plastic bin bags made by TIPA (the company, which will now make all of the fashion house’s plastic packaging in a bid to eradicate its plastic footprint).

The designer believes that glitz for its own sake is not something she has ever been particularly interested in, Stella McCartney never was a short-sight person in the world of the fashion and environment.

In fact, Stella has broken down barriers between high fashion and ethical fashion by straddling two worlds. Her mission statement is that clothes made from sustainable viscose and cruelty-free alternatives to leather should not be targeted at a niche market, but shown to hold their own on the Paris fashion week catwalk.

The Paris Fashion Week showed that saving the world aside though, this was a collection which explored some of Stella McCartney’s favourite themes, and will no doubt be popular with her loyal customers.
