Snapchat and its young and proud CEO released the first hardware product, spectacles. They are able to record video as seen by your eyes. According to Evan Spiegel, the images that result are fundamentally different.
Snapchat released its first video sunglasses, this first hardware product was tested by Evan Spiegel in 2015. As he said:
“It was our first vacation, and we went to Big Sur for a day or two. We were walking through the woods, stepping over logs, looking up at the beautiful trees. And when I got the footage back and watched it, I could see my own memory, through my own eyes—it was unbelievable.”
That’s why Evan decided this product has a future. Innovative spy video sunglasses has a camera with 115-degree-angle lens. This gives to the eyes more natural field of view. Regarding the style of new spectacles from Snapchat, it’s one-size-fits-all in black, teal or coral.

In other words, if you’re a great fan of the Snapchat and video messaging, buy the pair of spectacles! At a price of $129.99 and with limited distribution (of course!), it won’t be relied upon for significant immediate revenue. Spiegel argues that new gadget is very useful because gives your arms a freedom to do anything instead of holding the smartphone, which is “like a wall in front of your face.”
