Protesters blocked the highway due to judicial reform in Tel Aviv.

Protesters over the judicial reform government of Benjamin Netanyahu block Tel Aviv’s central highway after a concerted protest in the city center that drew tens of thousands of Israelis ended.

Earlier Saturday, more than 100,000 people rallied against judicial reform on Tel Aviv’s central Kaplan Street in front of the government building complex. Such spontaneous actions have been held weekly for 27 weeks in a row.

A significant part of the protesters began to go home, but a group of the most active demonstrators began to move towards the central highway of the city – the Ayalon Highway. They are actively supported by the remaining protesters, who wave flags and shout anti-government slogans.

Large police forces have been pulled up to the highway, which have not yet taken measures to disperse the demonstrators. Mounted police units were also called to the scene.

A few days ago, the Ayalon Highway was blocked for several hours in an uncoordinated protest against judicial reform. The police then used water cannons and resorted to harsh detentions of activists.
