NATO has adopted a plan to deploy 100,000 soldiers to Poland if necessary, Polish President Andrzej Duda told reporters.

The speech of the head of state is broadcast by Polish television.

“I can explain what is expected: if there were an attack, for example, on the Brest Gates (from Brest in Belarus), plus or minus 100,000 NATO soldiers would be sent to our territory for immediate defense,” Duda said after the end of the summit of NATO in Vilnius.

These are the postulates that were adopted and approved by NATO within the framework of defense plans,” the Polish president added.

About 10,000 NATO soldiers are currently stationed in the country, most of them from the US armed forces.
