More than 40 people were detained after the terrorist attack in Jerusalem.

Israeli police said they have detained 42 people after a terrorist attack near a synagogue in East Jerusalem.

On Friday evening, Israeli police reported a terrorist attack on a synagogue in East Jerusalem. According to Israeli police, as a result of shooting in the Neve Yaakov area, seven people were killed and three more were injured.

Police said on Saturday that 42 people were detained in connection with the attack.

According to law enforcement officers, among the detainees are relatives or acquaintances of the terrorist, who turned out to be 21-year-old resident of East Jerusalem Alkam Khayri.

Israeli police said the shooting was carried out by an Arab resident of East Jerusalem, a part of the city that Israel has annexed and the Palestinians consider their capital. The attack follows the Israeli military’s killing of 10 Palestinians in a raid in the Palestinian West Bank city of Jenin.
