Moldovan President Sandu plans to meet in the United States with the secretary generals of the UN and NATO

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has arrived in New York on a working visit, where she plans to meet with the UN and NATO secretaries general Antonio Guterres and Jens Stoltenberg, the press service of the administration of the head of the Moldovan republic reported.

“President of Moldova Maia Sandu begins a two-day visit to New York, USA, where she is in connection with the work of the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations. She will meet with UN Secretary General António Guterres,” the presidential administration said in a statement.

Also in the United States, the Moldovan leader intends to meet with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Earlier in Moldova, a mass protest of opposition supporters against the current government took place. Thousands of people stood in front of the administration building of the President of Moldova, shouting slogans: “Down with power!”, “Resignation”, “Down with Maia Sandu!”.
