Meghan Markle’s birth plans are breaking Royal tradition

Meghan Markle’s birth plans are breaking Royal tradition

Pregnant Meghan Markle has her own plans for the upcoming birth of the first child, however, these plans are breaking the traditional royal ones, DM reported.

Ms Markle’s rule-breaker tendencies are continuing, she wants to have a home birth instead of the hospital. In the 1980s, Princess Diana did the same when she announced she will give birth to her first child not at home but in Lindo Wing. In fact, Prince William was the first ever royal kid who was born not in Buckingham Palace.

Duchess Meghan is a huge advocate of home births, but British royals used to give birth at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Yoga adept and vegan Meghan hates the ‘medicalized’ birth and instead wants to have a pool set up in a relaxing environment. Her husband found this surprising but Meghan knows how to get from him what she wants. Ms Markle wants her birth as natural as possible, her mother Doria Ragland fully supports the daughter in it.

Meghan Markle, 37, wants a home birth despite the risk of complications

It is rather unexpected that the 37-year-old Meghan doesn’t want to go to the hospital, her age automatically means there can be problems. To avoid the unexpected situation during the home birth, Duchess wants a large team of professionals to be nearby if she really does give birth at home. The fact is a risk for complications is higher for a pregnant woman over age 35.

Meghan allegedly wants to breastfeed in public to help fight the stigma against it and wants to make sure Prince Harry is photographed holding the child.

The Lindo Wing has been the proven birthplace of many recent royals. Princess Diana gave birth to Harry and Prince William there. Duchess Kate did the same for all her three kids. George and Amal Clooney, close friends of Harry and Meghan, also have chosen the highly-respected maternity ward. But Ms Markle has her own point of view on the birth process.
