Kyiv demanded more fighters to protect the airspace.

The press secretary of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, said on the air of the United News national telethon that Kyiv needs at least five fighter brigades to ensure the protection of the country’s airspace.

“We don’t need 24, we need at least five full-fledged brigades, three squadrons in each brigade,” he said.

According to the press secretary, this number of aircraft will be sufficient to ensure the protection of Ukrainian airspace together with the air defense forces. Ignat also stressed that if fighters were handed over to Kyiv, it would be a gradual process.

Earlier, in a statement on the website of the office of the President of Ukraine, it was reported that Volodymyr Zelensky, after Western countries announced their intention to supply tanks to Ukraine, began to ask for help in the form of aircraft and missiles.
