Environmental activists Just Stop Oil sprayed orange paint on several private planes at London’s Stansted Airport after American singer Taylor Swift landed there, a press release published on Thursday on the movement’s website said.

The footage posted by the movement on its page on the social network X shows one of the activists cutting the iron fence of the airfield with a special tool, after which the girl runs up to two planes and sprays orange paint on them. The movement did not specify whether the singer’s plane was painted during the protest.

“Two Just Stop Oil activists spray-painted several private jets at the airport where Taylor Swift’s plane landed hours earlier,” the document states.

Thus, Just Stop Oil supporters are demanding that the British government, in cooperation with other countries, develop a plan to end the production and use of oil, gas and coal by 2030. They are calling for a legally binding “fossil fuel non-proliferation treaty,” the press release said.

On Wednesday, two Just Stop Oil activists sprayed orange powder paint on Stonehenge and the vandals were detained.

Activists of the environmental movement Just Stop Oil have been holding protests for several years now, advocating for an end to oil and gas production. In 2022, they glued themselves to paintings in galleries, threw paint on the buildings of various organizations, and organized protests and demonstrations that caused traffic disruptions in central London. In April 2023, they disrupted the first round matches of the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield by staining the table with orange powder paint. Since then, they have repeatedly interrupted various sporting events, staged “slow marches” on roads, disrupting traffic, and also poured orange paint on university buildings across the country.
