In Moldova, the period of stay in the country for Ukrainian refugees will be reduced. The Commission for Emergency Situations in Moldova allowed foreigners eligible for temporary protection to stay in the republic for only 90 days within six months, the press service of the government said. “The members of the Commission decided that from May 15, the period of stay in the territory of Moldova for persons entitled to temporary protection will be 90 days within six months,” the statement published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers says. It is noted that applicants for temporary protection will still be able to take advantage of simplified employment conditions. In June last year, the commission decided that refugees from Ukraine would be able to stay in Moldova for the duration of the state of emergency, as well as another 90 days after its end. The country’s authorities introduced a state of emergency on February 24 last year, then it was repeatedly extended under the pretext of an energy crisis and risks to national security due to the situation in Ukraine.
