Energy production at the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant in Finland has been suspended due to a turbine malfunction, operator TVO said on Monday.

“Electricity production at Olkiluoto-3 was interrupted today at 11.41 due to a turbine malfunction. An investigation is currently underway,” the operator said in a post on the social network X.

The Olkiluoto nuclear power plant is located in Western Finland on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea. The three operating reactors produce approximately 30% of Finland’s energy consumption.
