In Egypt, a new government was sworn in.

A new government has been sworn in in Egypt, with more than 20 ministers replaced.

Less than ten ministers from the previous cabinet retained their positions in the new one, and more than 20 heads of ministries were replaced. In particular, new leaders appeared in the ministries of foreign affairs, defense and finance.


A number of ministries were abolished and transformed. In addition, the new government of Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly created a Ministry of Investment.


In early June, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who had assumed his third term in office two months earlier, instructed Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly to form a new cabinet.
