Based on the presented White House budget proposal, the United States plans to spend a record amount on arms purchases in 2024. To be more precise, the amount reaches 145 billion dollars.

“The budget funds $170 billion for the purchase, (what will be) the largest in history,” the report said.

The US military department has requested 30.6 billion dollars for the purchase of ammunition. The amount requested is 5.8 billion more than last year’s appropriation.

Of the total amount, it is planned to allocate for the purchase: tactical missiles – $17.3 billion; strategic missiles – $7.3 billion; ammunition – 5.6 billion dollars.

In addition, $600 million will be spent on technological development and more than $1 billion on providing the production base for military equipment.
Washington will spend $6.2 billion to build a second Columbia ballistic missile submarine. Investments in the modernization of the country’s nuclear complex will amount to $37.7 billion.

The Pentagon has also requested $5.3 billion for the development and purchase of the B-21 strategic bomber.
