Human Rights Watch accused Israel of war crimes.

The human rights organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) claims that Israeli authorities are responsible for “war crimes” as well as “crimes against humanity” in the Gaza Strip, according to the organization’s report.

“Israeli authorities have committed large-scale, deliberate forced displacement of Palestinian civilians in Gaza since October 2023 and are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity,” the organization said in a statement on its website.

The organization argues that there are no military reasons that would justify “Israel’s massive displacement of almost the entire population of Gaza.” In addition, HRW’s investigation found that the Israeli military’s evacuation orders for Palestinians “caused serious harm” rather than ensuring the safety of civilians.

“Governments must take targeted sanctions and other measures and stop arms sales to Israel,” the statement said.

The organization called on the International Criminal Court to investigate Israel’s “forced displacement” of Palestinians and their denial of the right of return to Gaza as a “crime against humanity.”

Israel has been actively fighting in the Gaza Strip for more than a year since the Hamas attack on the country on October 7, 2023, and has also been striking Hezbollah in Lebanon. A month ago, the IDF began a ground operation in southern Lebanon to dismantle the infrastructure and physical presence of Hezbollah forces in areas bordering Israel. Due to daily shelling from Lebanon, about 60 thousand residents left settlements in northern Israel. The situation is complicated by growing tensions between Israel and Iran. In 2024, for the first time in history, Iran twice attacked the Jewish state with missiles, and Israel, for its part, struck the Islamic Republic for the first time and officially took responsibility for it.
