US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is ahead of her rival in the election race, Republican Donald Trump, on the issue of managing the country’s economy, according to the results of a poll conducted by the Financial Times newspaper and the Michigan Ross business school at the University of Michigan.

When asked who they trust most to run the US economy, 44% of respondents pointed to Kamala Harris. 42% of respondents supported Donald Trump. As the Financial Times emphasizes, Harris thus increased her lead by 1% compared to August, when 42% of voters supported her and 41% supported Trump when asked a similar question.

Moreover, in response to the question of what factors they consider the most significant when deciding whose candidate to vote for in the presidential election, 58% of respondents named economic problems, such as workers’ dreams and the cost of living.

The survey was conducted online from September 11 to 12 among 1,002 registered voters. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.

The US presidential elections will take place on November 5th. The Democratic Party will be represented by Vice President Harris, and the Republican Party by former President Trump.
